PURPOSE

1. When possible, help financially those families with EB to each the burden of medical treatment and other needs. WWFEB has appropriated 58% of the total donations to this purpose.
2. When practical, give physical support to those families with EB. The groups that prepared bandages for several years gave countless hours back to the Thurmond family. Sometimes just being there is most beneficial!
3. Fund EB research to find a cure for the disease. Wouldn't it be great to one day not have this problem? WWFEB has donated thousands of dollars to research. As other organizations continue this effort, research will get closer to a total cure.
4. Enhance EB awareness to our community. 2 ½ % of our total receipts are pledged to making people in our neighborhoods aware. We are getting the word out through the press, Rotary Club, and our local school district. Most of our awareness is done entirely through volunteers.
5. Bring families of EB together by maintaining a strong communications network. In February WWFEB has contributed several times to the Have a Heart for EB event which brings families together in Florida. Each December we co-sponsor a Santa Social with the KissesforKatie organization. These events may be the most gratifying opportunities as we see EB families being reacquainted and providing support to one another.

What we really want you to know is that we have put your donations to great work. Our administrative costs are less than 3% of the total receipts. This is remarkable! Believe it or not, the postage stamp is one of our highest expenses.
